Cool

yes i would have to agree with getting a supercharger, take a look at this:

1996-2000 GM Vortec 5.7L V8 Truck / SUV Supercharging Systems

The Vortech supercharging system for the 1996-2000 GM truck with the 5.7 GM VORTEC engine will impress you with the obvious attention to detail and fully integrated appearance. Increase horspower from 250 to 359 and torque from 335 lb./ft. to 410 lb./ft.* This power will help you pull you, your passengers and your toys over the hill or around the corner.

but also look at the price:

PART #DESCRIPTIONPRICESELECT 4GM218-050SQ1996-2000 GM Vortec 5.7L V8 Truck / SUV V-2 SQ S-Trim System$4668.95/ea 4GM218-058SQ1996-2000 GM Vortec 5.7L V8 Truck / SUV V-2 SQ S-Trim System - Polished$4911.95/ea

I would love to put a supercharger but will my motor hold up?? price is a lot for a blown motor in the end. If it would hold up I would go for it.

why not just fix up the truck and enjoy it as it is. you wanna race go by a car. speed and weight dont mix that well. imagine your stock motor at 255 335 in a car that ways half as much. wow you'd go from hi sixteens to low thirteens !

I would like a car but I love trucks!! my truck runs great but im 17 and you can never have enough power. Its the best thing to blow off a little tuner in a full size truck you cant beat a powerful truck I just want a little more hp thats all.

A few months back I had the perfect solution for you. I tried to sell my 906 Vortec Heads for $350, But I couldn't give them away. not even with the roller rockers oversize valves and Tall alum valve covers. Tomorrow I will trade my truck even for a 95 Tahoe 4X4 with 80,000 on the ODO.

Yep thats it. It is in immaculant condition with the exception of the normal wear on the drivers seat. The Tahoe that I am trading for is in the same condition. That truck is the very first vehicle that I have ever held the title to. I hate to get rid of it but I can't fit my wife and 2 girls in the front seat.

Yeh, I got them but they are still on my motor and and in use. I went tp trade with the guy on the Tahoe and he was on crack. Seriously, He said for me to give him my truck a 2 grand for his because my truck had 199934 on the odo. and his had 80347 on his, but the theris fraud. How many of you know about 95 gm trucks and suv? They are one of a kind year mods.
1. New dash
2. TBI engine
3. Air/ Heat controll only from a 95
4. Trans - only for a 95
5. Instrument Cluster 95 has red line @ 4300, 96-up has no red line on the tach.
This 95 Tahoe had a 96 gauge cluster.
He wasn't selling me an actuall milage vehicle.
Can we say Fraud.
The steering had 1/4 turn of play, trans took longer that it should to change. Couldn't open the rear tailgate. A/C didn't work.
What the ****?
Needless to say I sold him the honest truth that that he would be left with a stupid look on his face as I left.
