Adding a second fuel pump

I have a 1999 2500 cummings, and have had the tranfer pump go out and burn up my injector pump. I want to wire a second tranfer pump on the frame by the fuel tank and wire it into the same wiring as the first pump. They will both turn on and off at the same time, I am worried about to much fuel pressure. I know most of the fuel returns to the tank but I am wandering if this will work?

is there a reason you want 2 pumps installed?? most people arent excited about the single pump that they have to buy and replace.

i don't think it will work. well think of it like this if you buy 2 same pumps at the same time does not mean that they will put out the same pressure. and you will need a less pressure one first then a higher pressure one after. if you put the same pressure pumps in the 2nd one will fail because of the pressure pushing by the first one then you are back at square one again. i work for a pump co. and this is the same thing just instead of water it is fuel. just my 2 cents
