| I cant beleive no one said to check the fuses yet thats always the first thing with no power. and if it had tape on the wire it probably shorted out and blew the fuse. there should be 3 to 4 stereo plugs depending on if previous owner hacked into it or not the first plug is black and has 3 wires: yellow = switched igntion power black = ground grey = dimmer The second is white and has 4 wires: light green = front passenger (+) dark green = front passenger (-) pinkish/tan = front driver (+) grey = front driver (-) The third plug Blue also has 4 wires: yellow = passenger rear (+) brown = passenger rear (-) light blue = driver rear (+) dark blue = driver rear (-) The fourth and sometime's non exsisting on some models is the 2 wire plug Orange = constant unswitched (12v+) Brown = dont worry about that guy ![]() ![]() ![]() GM has used this same color code since the 70's and still uses the same one to this day even though they changed the three plugs style the color of wires is the same

| I didn't mention the fuse as it was stated that the yellow wire was unhooked. I was going for verifying that the radio actually worked.

| I am going to agree with him.... If the wire was not connected, I would have not figured it was a fuse problem either. Glad to see CF79 had a picture, that is always helpful

| i wasn't trying to talk down on you guys by any means so don't think that. I just as a rule of thumb check the fuses first ever since I was in a mechanic competition and the judges of the test cut one of the spade terminals off the fuse so when you checked it with a multimeter it tested good, you had to actually pull the fuse out and look at it to find the problem. those sneaky suckers
