Atro air.

98 Astro, air (or heat) comers out floor vents but not dash vents, found a vacuum switch visible under passenger air bag, pulled off red & black vac. connector, seemed to be no vacuum there at all. Where do I look next?
Is a vacuum schematic available anywhere?
thanks
jim

i'd take the climate control panel off and look back there then I'd take out the glove box and see what I could see behind there because thats where the vent selector door is and i bet your little plastic holder broke it's very common to see

On the 98 astro the glove box is below the cup holders on the engine cowell, in front of the passenger is only the air bag. Is the selector door in front of the passenger under the air bag (where you'd normally look for a glove box) or behind the one on the cowell?
thanks

I don't know the layout of an Astro but there should be only one vacuum line that passes through the firewall. That line is the vacuum source for moving the doors in the HVAC.

When you find the vacuum leak, can you imagine the Jetson's dog saying "Rutroo, Reorge"?

If you could see in to the firewall, or visually trace a vacuum line on an Astro, I wouldn't be asking. There's barely room to stick your arm in to mid engine. Maybe i'll install a hinge on the back bumper so's I can just lift the body off for these kinda things.

Ever notice Jetsons dog sounded just like Subeeroo, er Scoobydoo?
