my trucks mileage improved when i put the cat back duals on my 97, along with the taller tires. the tires surprised me.

One major problem, and GM will foot the bill, Open the Radiator cap, if it has orange coolant call your local dealership and set an appointment to have the radiator boiled or replaced and the water pump replaced. GM is in a big lawsuit for the Dexcool detiorating the cooling systems of their vehicles esp. alum radiators. If it doesn't look like red mud in the rad. you can follow the steps to flush it out and refill with the green.
I will try to find the website and post it.

don't be afraid to put the green stuff in there after you flush the system. i've been running the green ever since i had the overheating problems and cracked my radiator almost 2 years ago.

usmceric1 will become famous soon enough
I have just had my rad flushed and filled with dex-cool. This was at an independant service station. I did not know that thats what they were gonna use, but my truck has 167k on it and it had dex-cool in it before, so I have no bad experiences with it.

you're always gonna have a couple that dint fit exactly on the parabolic curve... but for the most part that stuff will wreak havoc

pickupgirl did you fix the lights on your truck i would start with the ground wire in the back at the taillight harness you mentioned the old owner used to tow a boat it could be rusted or broken then check the rest it sounds like a bad ground!

First...I would never go green (unless I'm buyin a Deere)-Imma stay blue til my next four years are up and then I'm out. But the only problem I've had with my truck is a coolant leak-no biggie!
