engine won't slow down I have a '99 Yukon with the 5.7l 350 engine in it. It runs and drives fine until you try to stop. When you let off of the gas it is like the pedal is stuck. When you finally get stopped the engine runs like normal, but it is hard to get it to stop with the engine still trying to push you forwards. I don't know what the problem is and have never heard of this issue before. Any help would be appreciated.

| Have the idle control or throttle position sensor tested. It's a good start

Disconnect and plug off the vacuum line to the cruise module too.

Thanks for the idea's I'd never seen or heard of this problem, before I got my Duramax I had a '96 with 13x,000 miles and never had a problem. The Yukon is my mom's daily driver and we were clueless. We looked at the idle control today, hopefully that is the problem. We cleaned it and it ran worse, so we are hoping a new one will fix the problem.

try removing the throttle cable, make sure the cable moves smoothly from the pedal out, sometimes cables degrade on the inside and you can't see it, its one of the reasons drive by wire is being used
