I would imaginf there would have to be a relay to take the load. Sure the load can't go across the switch by itself. Matter of fact there might be a couple of them. Should have some type of permissive relay to prevent the thing from going into 4 lo while it is in motion. Darn thing would try to engage if there was not some thing to keep it from doing that.
Yeah gotta be a relay or two in there somewhere.

The one ton had a transfer case relay near the fuel pump relay.
All had the switch LH top of t-case.

full size pages of these below. For 94 right ?
The part of one ton cut off on left is same as reg (just grounds).

SORRY --> Just realized I switched the labels on the diagrams
Easy to tell which is which, look for the extra relay on the one ton in upper right of page.
Little pic above is one ton on left and reg on right.
I'll fix this on photobucket later.

Nevermind. I see you copied a page from a book. plus I can click on the little sailboat picture that pops up in the lower right corner to zoom it in

Those are the pages from the factory shop manual for 94 C/K trucks gas/diesel.
Little pix in the post were just a heads up. Photobucket links should be very expandable.
Even if they are still labeled backwards LOL
