water leak

I have a coolant leak on left side of engine. It appears to be coming from the back of the cylinder head. I'm thinking it may be a head gasket. any other suggestions?

what year?

some were really bad about intake gaskets, and or the quick disconnect heater hose fitting in the intake.

pinpoint the leak and you should be able to tell where its coming from. hopefully its not leakin from a crack in the head

I would first check the heater hose disconnect fitting at the intake like mrjohnwayne said if not do a pressure test. I don't think it's a cracked head not unless it overheated super bad it's going to be something small I bet.

a good way to see if its a head gasket is look at your oil , if there is rad fluid in there then u know the issue , or check the exhaust for white smoke .....

Isnt the heater hose fitting on the fire wall , and didnt he say it was at the back of the cylinder , i always thougth the heater hose runs into the front of the intake and water pump .. how would that be the probleum if its at the back ... does your intake block the back water ports on your cylinder head ?? my rpm performer does , i had a probleum before becasue of a leak there .. there is alot a clip that is sometimes installed into the passage way to allow heat to buil up .. ive only seen that on production intakes , most after markets just block it , , well my rpm does , not to sure about the rest .. try tighting the hose clamp on the fire wall ... my heater hose just slips over the copper pipe that leads to the heater element... ive only seen the disconnect added as a after market , not from the factory...good luck man
