Computer chip or dyno tune?

Hey guys I have had my truck for a while and I built the motor for it. Not much but enough to make it run faster. 350 tbi performer manifold, throttle body spacer, bored 30 over, warm cam flat top pistons, headers, balanced motor and so on. Anyways my comuter is stock and the engine runs pretty rich and the computer doesn't allow the rpm's to come down below 900. The cam idle speed is supposed to be around 600. does any body know of a good chip I can pop in there to help it run better? I don't want to spend all the money on a dyno tune. I have a lot of raw fuel coming through the exhaust and someone told me that the computer is still holding about 40 horses back. Right now my truck is running high 9's in an eighth mile while spinning through third gear. I would like to get that down some.

id say with a home built engine, your best off with a dyno tune... chips are secifically set up for stock engines and have been dyno-tuned with precision for that secific application. a home built engine would be a lot different and the chip would not work well with it. my personal standpoint
