Welcome to the site;
More difficult to drive with a lift kit? This statement is true for all vehicles. The same is true for 4x4's and 2x4's alike, simply because the added weight of larger tires and weight associated with the additional material adds to both sprung and unsprung weight thus making it a little more difficult to drive.
Now the trade off is that additional clearance is always a good idea to prevent the frame from dragging and hanging up, but with this brings additional center of gravity and means that a taller vehicle is more likely to flop on its side, so there is a small trade-off.
Taller tires will have an easier time rolling over obstacles, provided that the drivetrain can turn them.
We could go on and on abiut this, but as far as a vehicle being more diffucult to drive, simply not true for one any more than any other vehicle.
The drivetrain has a greater potential for failure after a lift, but this is true for 4wd's alike.
There are many ways to lift a vehicle and if done with properly engineered components would not be any more difficult to drive.

The only thing pointless about it is it's not going to be for offroading I hope..If your just lifting it for looks then your good to go if you have that kinda cash laying around. 3.56 is your rear end gear which means for every revolution your rear tire makes your drive shaft will rotate 3.56 times. correct me if im wrong peoples

by offroad do yuo mean park it on your lawn?? 2wd does not do well off road. You can put a 16" lift and 44" thornberg swampers on it... but that truck is not built for off-road SORRY

Had a '95 silverado, put a 4" lift/leveling kit from Fab Tech on it. I used it off road for about 4 years. The ground clearance was a must out where I live and if you throw about 300 pounds or so in the bed (think concrete bags) it will do amazingly well. Add a gear locker and it gets even better. I would'nt do too much rugged off road by my self though as you can get yourself into a spot that you need help out of, but for hunting/camping, as long as you keep it reasonable it will be fun.

you surely wont be a monster off-road, but youll do just fine. if youre just takin it around some trails in the woods or even in fields you probably wont even need 4 wheel drive. the only time you will need it - mud. but even a 2wd can handle some mud, just gotta know how to drive

i wouldnt bother buying tires offline, theyre heavy and will cost a lot to ship, not quite worth it in my opinion unless you are set on very specific tires noone could order for you... i'd say your best bet would be a Town Fair Tire or NTB, or whatever you have around you.

as far as off roading with a 2wd pickup, i wouldnt recommend it. rear wheel drive + no wheght over the tires = getting stuck very easily. i wouldnt waste a bunch of money on offraod tires a lift and driveline. If you really want to offrad, use that money to pay for a 4x4. my suggestion...
