| 6.2/5.7 swap Hey guys, Got a quick question. Have a 88 chevy k1500 5.7 and a 86 chevy 1500 (2wd) 6.2 diesel. Just wondering if the 6.2 will bolt up to the 700r and mounting will work ok to swap the diesel into the 88. And also looking for other things to watch for and consider. Eveyrone might ask why im doing this, well, the diesel motor is good and the gas is just about spent. Im happy with the way it works in the 86 and just thought i could save money by swapping the diesel into this one. Thanks! |

| I believe the 6.2 will bolt up to the 700r4. If you have the truck that 6.2 is coming out of you should have no problems with the swap if you have to change motor mounts etc..

| 6.2 uses the same bell housing as any chevy engine. Will bolt right up. Can't say this is a swap i would consider doing, but it will bolt up.Can't see any respectable gains by installing a 6.2. |
