brakes

First I replaced my front brake pads then I drove it around it stops good. But then after I replaced the rear brake pads it doesnt stop as smooth it jerks when I slow down. Could the brakes be out of adjustment?

hard to tell what the problem could be without being there.
did you do one side at a time and compare them when you were done?

Thanks its a 2002 chevy silverado.I didnt compare them after I finished. But I made sure I put everything back together right then I went for a test drive. I only noticed it after I did the rear pads. note the rear pads were worn all the way down to the metal.

check the drums. if they are scored then the brake pads could be threading on the drum causing the jerking. have the drums turned or replaced.

If I need to replace brakes, I usually have to replace rotors. Its just as cheap anymore to replace them, than to have them turned.

What brand or what type of rotor should I get or does it matter?

oops, diddn't pay attention to the year.
if the pedal does not pulsate then you can probably rule out rotors. i wouldn't want you to throw away a couple hundred on them and not need them.
