82 Chevy Need help getting it to shift correctly

I searched for a good chevy truck forum and this looks like it. I bought a 82 Chevy truck with a 305 in it. No telling how many miles are one the truck. The car ran like **** under a load, and doesnt shift at the right time. I went ahead and removed all the emissions since they were all hooked up incorrecty, and when the HEI's vaccum line was hooked up correctly the truck ran alot better. Also is there a transmission ID chart somewhere on the net? I know its not a 700r4, since it is a 82, but it has a TV cable???

I am trying to get this truck to get as good of gas mileage a can get a old tired 305 can get.

I dont think it is a OD trans because it doesnt say OD on the gear display. Can someone get me a fuse diagram. I am Fox Mustang guy, and I cannot find anything online for chevy trucks.

on that truck the fuse box should be labeled by each fuse.

I saw some writing on the fuse box, but not on every fuse. Any diagrams would be a help.

your best bet might be picking up a chilton or haynes manual.

I can't find anything for it.
