| 2 questions? will the fuel pump out of a TBI 350 in a 95, go in my 96 Vortec 350 and work properly??? is there a trick to making the heater/ac controls work if it quits on you. mine is stuck on cold and wont switch to heat, and only blows on defrost, the only thing that works is the fan speed switch. |

| I don't think the 95 tbi pump will supply a high enough pressure for the vortec. if the fan switch works but not the other hot/cold or defrost/vent/etc.. you might have a bad controller. them chevy's were bad about those switch's going bad. But it could be something different. The vent selector works off of vacuum so you might have a vacuum leak under the dash somewhere. And if i remember the hot cold uses an electric motor for the selector door. might have to do some investigating.

| yeah i had another 96 before and the switches went bad but the guy i bought the truck from fixed it for me and i never worried about it but now used switches are 50 bucks and i thought that was a little steep cuz the wreckin yard has a million of them trucks and idk but i aint payin it. thought maybe i could souther engineer somethin for the time being, i dont go too many places bein that the tranny is gone nearly. but it would be nice to be warm |

| I guess you cold just jam the doors... Check for that vacumn leak though, could lead to other problems. |

| is there a way i could jump it to kick it over to heat, because i dont much care which vent it blows out of just as long as it blows out, its gonna be rainy and cold so im gonna need the defroster anyways so i guess its all good. |

| eh, i leave my heat on defrost, the blower motor sounds like a cricket on speed. lol been that way for years, just never think to fix it till i nead to use it, then it's too cold to work on it.

| yeah that could be a variety of things with your hvac sys. vehicle's default to defrost for safety reasons if you hvac system is not working correct. If u have a tech2 or no someone that can take a look at your BCM to see if it stored a code u might find something out there. it won't throw a light on your cluster but will store a code of what is wrong with what actuator. I am looking at info on a 96 and it shows there are some software updates for the pcm, and bcm but that might now be it either. good luck |
