Add some more gear.
Dollar for dollar, two vehicles with the about equal power, one with a lower gear ratio (numerically higher number) and the vehicle with the lower ratio will out perform the other every time. No mods to the engine, just has a mechanical advantage.

What is so good,(desireable) about the 3.42's? Lil engine barely makes enough torque to pull those tall gears. Add a little extra resistance from slightly oversized tires, and the problem gets worse.

definitly want to lose the 3.42s. I'd go with a set of 4.11s, might as well throw in a posi unit while its apart. a peg leg 4.11 would be a burn out machine...

X2, that would run very well. Might even shake off a few 5.3's and suprise a 6.0L or two if they are not paying attention.
Ford 5.4's would still be scratching thier heads wondering what happened.
Should be able to bruise the ego a few Titan owners, and you will catch a yota or two underestimating you.
Ricers would be cooked with little effort.
Yeah, semi-aggressive gear change would be the biggest and best improvment with the least amount impact or compromise.

with some rough math, I'd guess your chugging donw the freeway at about 1400 at 70 with the 3.42s. you'll probably be right around 1800-2000, alot more passing power.
