opinions of my new truck 2000 3500

I am thinking of getting a new truck, and wanted to get some opinions, since my wifes grumbling about it, and i need help justifying it!

Its a 2000 3500 Chevy Single Cab dually work truck. Vortec 7400 nv4500 5 speed 4 wheel drive. it has 62,000 miles on it. It also has a really ugly and utterly useless flatbed on it that was used by the Drill and Blast crew at a coal mine. Its dirty, and its rough. Dents and scratches all over it. Missing the cowling cover betwen the hood and the windshield......
The good part is, anything and everything that ever went wrong with the truck was always fixed fast, and fixed right. It had its oil changed about every 1000 miles, although there would be quite a lot of idle time in there.
It runs and drives like a brand new truck, its just beat up and super dirty.

What do you think its worth? If you saw it at auction?

(i will have pictures of it monday night)

pretty much like this truck.... except mine is a 2000, 62,000miles,
a 5 speed, and the big block gas. About in the same shape, though.

Curious about your plans for it and how you'll use it.
Would make a pretty good 5th wheel Tow Vehicle.

Well, My plans for it so far would be just to clean it, do what i need to do to it and drive it.
i dont drive my truck every day, i have a car i drive to work, and my wife has her van. i just use it to haul stuff, use it when its bad weather, etc..... Itll just be a third vehicle.
i want to find a stock box to replace the flat bed. i really have no use for a tow vehicle, or flat bed.....
i think i can get it for like 1200 bucks, so im thinging of upgrading from my 92 S-10!

do you own it already? because a vehicle use at a coal mine should be given away, they aren`t worth buying, that coal dust is extremely hard on everything, especially drivetrain, and it gets into everything, used to do maintenace for trucks from a local mine, endless engines, trannys, diffs, couldn`t beleive were you would find that stuff!
my truck is a 2500 454, awsome power, maybe not great fuel economy, but camparable to new vehicles, the diff ratio is either a 3.73 or 4.10, don`t think there was any other options,at least with this vehicle parts are cheap and easy to repair though!

I have looked it over pretty well... and yeah, its a coal mine truck, but its not like they just drive in the coal all the time.....
Thsi truck was a good truck, but when my big mine bought out a smaller mine just south of us, they are getting rid of the Chevys, cause they just want to keep it all ford...
Its a pretty decent truck, dirty, but the driveline, tranny and engine are in great shape!
