| made a offer on a 1987 4x4 silverado how did i do? I'm looking at a 1987 silverado 4x4 2 tone that a guy I know has and has owned it since 1990 it has 64k original miles on it. No mods at all except the same bed rails. It is light blue, dark blue in the middle, and light blue on the bottom 2 tone with the stripe. it has always been garaged kept except for the past 2-3 years it's like new but the paint shows minor wear, the air doesn't work, and dash has a crack. interior and exterior look near new consindered tho. truck was painted right after he got it in 1990 for a recall he said they had on the clear coat. but besides that and the bed rails it's 100% stock and in great looking and running cond. he started off wanting $10,000 but later said after talking with him "ah that truck isn't worth 10." I called him today and offered him $7500.....think I over did it or if he takes $7500 think it would be a ok deal? or a GOOD deal for me or what? you guys probably know their worth more than me. I do know the 87 silverado was the first year for the 350 fuel injection. truck has it all, dual tanks, pw and locks, sliding rear glass window. oh ya I noticed he had a blue towel in the drivers seat area I said u always have that there? he replied ya he's always used a towel to keep the seat from wearing where u slide in and out this truck is in great cond. for a 20 year old truck. whatcha think?? |

| Sounds to me with it being in that great of condition that it's a heck of a deal. NADA, however, says Low is $2800.00 average retail is $6025.00 High is $8700.00 but that is for my area seeing how I don't know where you are from. I tried Blue Book but they only go down to 88. So you are atleast in the ball park. Maybe show him these numbers and he might drop it down a little more who knows. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you. Go to the NADA website and look it up for your area it might end up being more or even less than Western NY. You'll have to go into Classic cars because it only goes down to 89 for just used autos. |

| I think your crazy to pay that much for something that old. You could get something alot newer for 7500. But it doesn't matter what we think, its what you want

| well if you want a really nice 4x4 silverado in that body style it's now going to cost you since most are slap worn out now days. I for one always liked that body style and it being the last year with the one year only 350 fuelie in that body style with a decked out silverado trim and 4x4 it's probably well worth it to be honest...we'll see if he calls back or not tho because I'm not going to give any higher than $7500 |

I have a 1986 Ford F-150 5.0 EFI, NP435 tranny/NP208 transfer case I got for $2000. Had always had a dash cover and seat cover. Has **** near immaculate paint. Owned by an old man. He had all his receipts from always taking it to the Ford dealer to get anything done to it. 109k miles when I got it. It's also an XLT Lariat (top model for Ford). I swear, the motor is perfect, has great oil pressure, and the 4wd works excellent. Not saying that this Ford is a better truck. Not saying that at all. I don't know which is the 'better' truck, I'm just saying, they aren't THAT different. Mines been driven twice as much, nearly, and with 67k on your vehicle it makes it more 'classic'. But, still, there's no way I'd pay over $3500 for a truck like that. And that's only if I wanted to pay extra for that low mileage on an old truck. BUT people are into different things. LOL, that's why I have a Ford and you guys have Chevys.

| So, you think the truck the poster mentioned is worth $8000-$10000? BTW, there's only one 87 Chevrolet Silverado going for sale on Ebay that I saw. Yeah, it's $5000 at the moment, but also, it's being sold from a 'Classics' Dealership. That alone jacks the price up more than it should be. But, it's all in the eye of the beholder. |

| You said the owner was asking 10K, but then he said it wasn't worth that. |

look, that don't sound like he meant the one I looked at near my house, atleast it didn't sound like it. If he did he lost me with the "mentioned" and the "poster" "So, you think the truck the poster mentioned is worth $8000-$10000? " still never said 8-10 or that i thought it was worth that
