i'm running 285/75r16's which are basicly 33's on my 97, should have the same size fender openings. just watch your width and back spacing of the rim if you go aftermarket.

i'd measure the clearence you have and go from there, a 285/75 is 32.8", here is a site to go to check different sizes. it is also the cheapest place i have found super swampers. Technical Information

yea 285x75x16 is probly gonna max you out, also depends on the brand and model of the tires, im runnin 265x75x16s on my 96 Z and im runnin the stock wheels. my tires are Buckshots which are inexpensive tires, with pretty aggressive tread on 'em when they are new. they look good and mine arent too loud or anything, they look good on the truck, dont look to big or anything, dont know if i would go any bigger with the factory height though.

285/75//16 is still a rather huge tire. I think that is the biggest he could go with out a lift
