Electrical question on a '68 Chevy 3/4 ton I'm trying to remove the instrument cluster and am struggling with the headlight switch. Is there a trick to detaching this from the instrument cluster so that I can remove it in one piece? Ultimately I want to check the aftermarket tach since it stopped working and there is now a loose wire hanging down from behind the dash. Thanks, glw

There is a "button" on the top side of the headlight switch you need to push and hold down with the headlights on and the knob and shaft will come out.

tjzz4: Thanks a ton! There is nothing like that listed in my '68 Service Manual, but I suspected as much since I DID see the button you mentioned, and also the manual states to "remove the light switch rod". Thanks again...............really appreciate it! glw
