| i have a question regarding a 1986 chevy c-10. i can get a ggod deal on a 1986 c-10 it has a stpeside bed on it now i am not a fan of them, can i put a regular bed on it and what modifactions would i have to do to do that. any help would be nice thank u |

| I'm not a hundred percent, but I'm almost certain no. I think the mounting points are different, and the frame rails are closer together. I remember being shocked when I found out it wouldn't work.

| Might have to go out on a limb here and say, that it should work. Reciever hitches are the same, and even gas tanks are the same. Looked at spring perches for the rear axle and they are identical. This would indicate that the frame rails are not different, and that the width is the same. Center portion of the bed is the same, and I see that replacement parts are the same, and that the difference is simply the bed side(s). The dimension where the inner wheel well meets the bed is the same, and only the out portion of the bed sides are different. Looks like the dimmensions for the two are the same. Never seen a frame that ever indicated it was specific to a fleetside or stepside. |
