Okay... I had to add to this again. You guys are never ever going to believe this!!!!!

That code may have actually meant something...

Yesturday, I ventured out, I was in dire need of ciggarettes and no one was home.... anyways.... I was sitting at the light next to the gas station and the motor started shaking like ****. The light came on. Same code. po303. Right across the street was an autozone. We popped the hood, they helped me check wires and connections to see of one of the wires popped off since the tune-up. Not seeing anything, we were discussing if I should drive it home. While it was idling there, all of a sudden it started knocking like crazy!!!!!

the guy helping me ran to shut it off. Sounded like I spun a bearing.... either way motor was not being drivin. Serves me right for going out, I should have stayed in bed. I did not bring my Pain meds with me and I was getting irritated!

Anyways, long story short, I got home, truck was towed to dealer. They took the valve covers off thinking it was a broken valve spring since the banging was top end. Found nothing. Took the sprk plug out for the #3 cylin der and it was sheered in half! So the head cam off. No damage. Not broken valve. Piston not damaged. rings still good. Stupid mysteries!

So.... the put the head back, replaced the spark plug and blamed a faulty plug from bosch. Started it up, banging came back, this time #1 cylinder! took head off and found a forign peice of metal. Not belonging to my motor. Worked its way through the intake manifold and hopped from one cylinder to the next.

They have no idea what it is, or where it came from, and are not willing to take anymore chances. SOOOO.... I am getting a new motor. Warranty is paying for a rebuilt engine. They do not know what caused this, but are no willing to think it will last.

I have never run w/o a filter in the air box, and never really abused this engine... But as it turns out, what ever this was may have been in there for a long long time, and could have been what was tripping the ECU all this time.

I guess it is just my luck for leaving the house when I was not supposed too! Now I am officially trapped at home, I will not have my truck back for at least a week.... maybe two, depending on when the motor comes in.

I thought it was funny and had to share it with everyone!

well, maybe quick.... but never painless... or quietly, like they need to let the whole world know they are dying! funny how that works.....
