96 chev ext. 1500 4x4 fuel problem

hi i am having problems with my 305 engine and it won't start. the fuel pump comes on and theres lots of fuel that comes out of the filter. i have changed the fuel pump a couple of months ago. but it seems there is no fuel at the throttle body because when i pour some fuel down the throttle body it fires. what could be the problem?

should check fuel pressure, sadly, be around 55-60psi i think, gas can siphon out at fuel filter, check that first then we can go more indepth into problem, if no pressure and all fuses are okay check for power at pump, and ground, is common for wires to rub open in a few places,

are you able to check for codes? testlight all fuses also, do you know anybody with a injector noid light tester? i`ve got a set for some of the vehicles i have, it will tell you if the injectors are getting a signal to open or not. i`ll talk to a buddy of mine and see what he thinks also,...

u know what stumpuller i made a mistake it does not come up to 50 or 60 psi iread it wrong because itested again and the hightest reading i can get is 45 psi. so what causes the pump to lose pressure? and idon't understand what you mean by siphoning out of the fuel filter. you mean the in line filter? or in the tank screen?

okay so key on should be your maximum pressure, if it is 45 that is not enough, before reluctantley going to buy a new pump you`ll need to check for good power and ground at the pump, i believe there is four wires, and without a diagram i can`t remember which one will have 12 volts and which will be ground, you will need to use a multi-meter. need more than .5ohms for ground, one of the wires may have about 5 volts, this is the level sender supply voltage, i think the colors are black orange purple and grey, but which are which, again i forget. as for siphoning from the inlet of the fuel filter don`t wory about that, did you use a jobber pump? you`ll need a buddy to run the key for you when you check for power, supply is only sent for a few seconds i beleive,

yes you can buy a fuel pump pulsator from gm and its 80 dollars after market is 60 dollars. that is the problem why i am not getting full psi it spraying back into the tank because the pulsator is ruptured. i punched in chevy fuel pump pulsator and lots came up on it and it has been a known problem for gm's from 92 to 96. the old pulsators were orange rubber seal and the new ones are viton balck rubber. thats why i was not to jump and say it was the fuel pump because i won't to know why the pump was producing lower fuel pressure.the reason the pulsators rupture is from using etenol gas and fuel injector cleaners and fuel line anti freeze.
