shifting problem

Hi everybody. I am new here and wanted to ask a question. I have a 1999 z71. While I am driving it the transmission shifts fine but after a while the torque converter will unlock. If I give it a little more throtle it locks back in but if I ease back off the throtle it unlocks. I was reading in one of the fourms and somebody said they adjusted the tps and that solved their problem. I was wondering if any has heard of this and if so how do I adjust the tps sensor.

some are adjustable and some aren't. for your year, if it is adjustable, you would need a scan tool like a tech2.

I don't want to hi-jack this thread, but I have a somewhat stupid question. How do you know if you torque converter locks up or not?

what Iam talking about the lock up is when you are driving you can hear the difference in the mufflers(duel exhaust with super 40's) and you can watch the tach move about 200 rpms. When I take off my truck shifts from first to second and then second to drive and then to overdrive and then it shifts one more time. That is what I am calling the lock up

yea thats what happens its like a 5th gear. you can also touch ur brakes and it should unlock also. 200-250rpms is about right. i would adjust the sensor a little one way then drive it.
