Question Steering Wheel control buttons

I have a 2006 Chevy 2500 HD with the DIC buttons and audio controls on the steering wheel. My problem is the backlights for the buttons have quit working. Does anyone have suggestions where to look for the problem. I have checked all the fuse boxes I can find. One button light is working but the rest aren't. How about any electrical schematics? Any help would be appreciated. Also, there is a popping or clicking noise from the passenger side windshield area when at speeds above 50 MPH. Can't seem to locate the cause. Anyone familiar with a fix for this as well?
Thanks in advance for any help offered!

The clicking may be a bad windshield seal. Only way i know of to diagnose that is put masking tape around the edges of the glass and trim, and go drive - see if it's still there.
If you've had a windshield replaced in the last few months i'd definitely start there.

It could also be a leaf or something stuck in the cowling.

As for the lights, those lights burn out easily, so it could be as simple as needed bulbs, they are a pain to replace though, so it would depend on how important that is to you. As for the clicking, in that corner under the dash is a relay switch. That will click from time to time when activating. I have only heard of it with the wipers running, or the blinkers on, but highway speeds affect sensor readings. If the clicking is persistant, and steady, it could be a bad relay. I could not tell you for what, but that is what is sounds like to me.
