| Yeah, I did know. I was just typing and not thinking. camino has it, I was trying to illustrate a vehicle with no computers. However, they did have the corvette back then right? It does not matter. My whole point was why risk it? Not every one has the same experiences, and it may be perfectly fine for some, but why take the risk when you can get the sound and the power from a system tuned for the truck? Make sense?

| Hi guys thanks for the opinions. Junior, just using your post to pose that question, I wasn't commenting on anything you might have been telling the person you were responding to... I do know some of the V8's they run on airboats are older style carb'd ones. I believe they are also putting "Vortec" engines on them too. So possibly they are fiddling with the fuel injection to give them more fuel so they'll run a bit cooler (and prob make more hp). You guys wanna drool a bit? These are some of the engines they are putting on the airboats they build not too far from where I live at Panther Airboats - man I'd kill for one of those 572 cubic inch monsters! http://www.airboats.com/pages/engines.html Thanks for your opinions and views. I can go with the "computer tuning" as I work on bikes daily and if they are even slightly lean they get a lean pop on deceleration. If you put on a high flow exhaust, they can (and do) run very lean, which could cause valve problems. Hey speaking of that - is anyone making a chip to richen up a 1992 Chevy 350? Thanks Mike |

| I used to run open headers on my 84 until the cops got real sick of it. Now Ive got a set of 45" long pipes with turndowns on the end comin off my headers just to get ist behind the cab. I was extremly supprised at the amount of noise reduction this gave me. on an older engine straight pipes will not harm it in any way shape or form.
