| I have a 1992 Chevy Blazer Tahoe LT with a 4.3 W code v/6, automatic transmission. It has the push button 4x4. I was wondering if I could take the transfer case out of an older Blazer that has the lever on it and install it in my truck without any modifications. If not, its no big loss. |

| Well, you will need to modify the center of the floor where the lever is going to go. I thought they didn't start the push button until 1997? I had a 1995 with the vacuum controlled floor mounted lever..... weird. either way, changing anything from stock, will always require modification. The transfer case should mount, but the lever needs a place. Just some food for thought. And is the push button failing? Why the lever? In most of the S-series, the lever was very similar to the electronic in that it is still a spereat system to engage the TC, it is not a direct mechanical link like the older jeep sand toyotas, and most of the full sizers of the day. They run off of a vacuum system and the activation the 4x4 is still remote. There is not really an advantage with it in my opinion.

| My blazer has a knock out panel in the floor for the lever to come up through. I dont care for the switch, because it doesnt always work. To get it to work, I need to come to a full stop and put the truck in park. |

| then it should be relatively easy, and the lever on the floor is a bit more dependable as far as engaging then the button anyways. Have you found one? if not, hit up the bone yards, looking for any s-series blazer, jimmy, S10 or S15 Sonoma, Or Sierra or silerado..... you get it...older then 1995, it should have what you need. All were availible with the 4.3l and 4wd.

| I'd bet that you could probably get the shifter and linkage from the bone yard and take the actuator motor off your T-case and put the linkage on it. it would be alot cheaper and easier.
