| 98 Chevy Truck check engine light came on... ...So I do a little research and find that I need a OBDII Code Reader to find out what's wrong. I go down to PEP Boys and buy one for $100. Very nice. It tells me #P0135 - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1) Now I'm wishing I had a manual. That'll be my next purchase. I assume I need to replace the O2 Sensor. Can someone tell me where this O2 Sensor is located? Or any references to where I can get more information? Thanks in advance! |

| Inexpensive OBDII Code Reader Hi guys. I found a a pretty good web page (www.diydiagnostics.com). I ordered one of the scanners and was able to get the trouble code, fix my car, and shut off the engine light with it. It really worked well! Seems like a pretty good price at $54.99 plus about 4 bucks for shipping. The tool works great. It gives you more control over viewing/clearing codes than some others. Plus, it has a nice length cord so that you don't have to spend time with your head underneath your dashboard. It says it Works on 1996 and newer GM, Ford, Chrysler, Nissan, Toyota, Honda, and some others. No computer required. It also comes with a handy code booklet to tell you what the codes mean. | The inexpensive readers just have engine diagnostics. buy the better one , It will have trans codes also. I am pretty cheap myself, But it stinks when you get a trans code to turn on the light, but cannot diagnose it with your scanner. Spend the money
