| Yeah, bad connections, loose or dirty, on either end of the cables from either battery post could cause a problem too. Worth looking at. Hopefully it's that easy. |

| Thinking about it a little more, while poor connections can cause heating, the starter may be begining to freeze up. That would draw more current and cause heat in several places. Guess I'm back to thinking starter. May be the shims are a problem, could be time for a hammer check for starter. |
