Carb to throttle body? I have a small block that is built a little bit that has a carb on it and I'm thinking about putting a throttle body on it I have the whole throttle body motor with everything with it and the computer and wiring harness. What would I have to do to put the throttle body on to the carb motor?

| WHY? all that work. what are you trying to accomplish? Tuned right, a carb can help to pruduce more power then a TBI anyways. And you would need more then just the parts, time and patience to install all the sensors and computer, and re-wire basically the whole truck..... I would think it would be easier and possibly better to step up, and/or tune up the carb. Just how I see it though.

i agree with junior 3382 if your installing a stock tbi you may notice improved response an a little beter fuel economy.if money is tight stick with your carb,if you've got some money to spend check out after market products, holly makes a tbi for around $1200 or so that comes complete and take less than a day to install.

I am doing this cause the truck used to be throttle body and I use it at the sand dunes and it just don't want to run going up the hills. About half way up it wants to die on me. I've had several friends that are into trucks and going to the sand dunes that has helped me with this problem and can't seem to find out what it is. Thats manly what use the truck for.

putting a throttle body back on you're truck is a great idea considering what you use the truck for. if you have a motor with a throttle body on it i would just swap intake manifolds. now you have all the brackets and everything you need alread on the tbi manifold and all thats left to do is the wiring harness.

The one thing that I'm worried about is the mods that I have done to the motor messing with the computer, and if the stock throttle body will feed enough fuel to the motor to make it run good.
