lifted chevy pulls right I work at a shop that specializes in lift kits. I recently lifted an '03 chevy 1500 regular cab shortbed. I installed a 6' pro-comp lift with 35' tires. After I aligned the vehicle I test drove it and it had a pull to the right when I wasn't on the accelerator. Since the test drive I have checked the brakes, swaped the from tires, installed stock tires, checked for loose componants, leveled the steering center link, re-aligned, changed my cross caster to -1.5 derees. When i installed the lift i replaces both lower ball joints, but did not repace the upper ball joints because they did not seem warn out. IS there anyone who has seen this problem and corrected it?

Welcome to the site; Sounds like an interesting problem, but I believe it is easily solved. First thing I question is how you lifted the rear? Did you remove the springs at all? I had a truck that tried to change direction under acceleration and it turned out to be a darn shackle was too tight. As the pinion moved up (naturally) the spring length changed slightly and the shackle did not move freely. This caused some binding and not only did the heigth change a little, but the darn truck pulled to one side. Might take a look at the rear before you drive yourself crazy looking at the front. Just a thought. 75

Yesterday i changed the last three front ball joints upon instruction, and i re-aligned again. Of course that didnt help. Thank you for your advise, I losened the rear shackle drove it, and it did the same same thing. Then I re-torqued the shackle bolts, and it still pulled on deceleration. The rear end was lifted with a larger block to repace the rear stock block, and one add-a-leaf on each side. I am goin to continue to investigate the rear because I agree with your advice. I have ordered a set of ladder bars for the rear and will most likely have them to install tomorrow. I would apreciate any more ideas and i will keep posting information as i find it. thank you

I got the same issue with my 06 AValanche, but mine is coil spring in the back..I wonder if its the wider front end tracking differently than the rear. the front lift ,pushes the wheels out an 1 1/2" on each side, the rear width doesnt change..so my quess is if the rear isnt lined up just right its going to act like a rear steer and make the front chase the rear.... does that make sense to anyone??

have you checked the weight distribution on the front torsion bars, if they aren't even the truck will pull no matter how well the alignment is.

never considered the T-bars...I'll check it out when the air temp. gets above freezing, its 12 degrees out in the garage right now...but if I drive on a flat road that is pitched slightly to the center line, it drives dead straight..do you think its still a front end issue?
