| You need to remove the plastic molding around it. Depending on the year you own, you may have to remove the whole dash face. The stereo itself is held in with four screws. It is a din+ set up so to add one after market you will need a trim kit that reduces the opening to reg DIN size, or pick a factory fit unit. To replace the stereo can be very time consuming, chevy did not make it easy, so you will need patience. DO NOT FORCE THE DASH APART, it is very brittle and will break. Take your time. What year S10 do you have? What are you replacing it with? Let me know, I can give a more detailed explanation.

| Okay, on both sides of the steering wheel under the coumn you will find two screws. Once removed the bottom panel will come off and you will see 2 more. If you look at your gauge pod, look up under the lip there is another one. Those three need to be removed. You will need to remove the ash tray, and above that is your last crew. You should be able to remove the whole dash face. This will reveal the raw parts of the stereo. There are two screws on both sides of the stereo, this will allow you to remove it. Now depending on the kit you got to install the new stereo, you should be able to follow the specific directions it gives to install the kit and therefore install the stereo. Then you should be able to slide the dash back together. all in all, should take about an hour, it is not complicated, just sometimes can be frustrating if the plastic sticks or something does not give. I hope this helps.
