94 chevy k1500

need help my buddy has a 94 k1500 with a 383 stroker block is between 74'-79'. he has replaced water pump, sending unit sensor and stat. it had no heat now it does and its pegging hot bout 240 anyone know what else it could be? the stat is opening but he can not figure it out. could it be the fan clutch?

Does the fan spin? Why not free up a couple of ponies and go with electric fans. Is the shroud still on it or was that removed? Is the Temp gauge lying to you? could be a number of reasons.

the motor is fresh? might have some bad gaskets, or the timing could be way retarded.

I agree with skylark gaskets might be bad or backwards on the heads or intake mostly check timing also check to see if water hoses are collaping is the fan blade put on the way it could be reverse or they sold you wrong water pump wrong rotation get back to us on what it was it might just be that radiator is clogged.

does it have the srock fan? or does it have the racing type flex fan, those are useless for a daily driver, recommend race only, my buddies 502 just had same problem, turned out the flex fan couldn`t move enough air for driving around town, just a thought...
