Hello all i have a 2000 chevy 3500 2 wheel drive with a 4L80E trans its shifts great and into overdrive seams like after it warms up that it will slip out of over drive the only way i can get it to work again is to turn off the key and start it up again and than it will work fine Note i dont have to stop the truck i can do this while driving down the road !! ,that kinda tells me its mabe a solonoid ?? i removed to pan to change the filter the fluid is not burnt and the filter looks good i will be chainging it anyway what i found in the pan stuck to the magnet is a small spring about 2 1/2 in. long with a L shape at one end and a loop at the outer end .its a small thin spring and does not look broken, the inside of the pan was clean and no metal, any help would be Great Thanks !!! i know this is a long post this seams to be a normal concern for this trans

Hey Old guy, from another old guy ! Welcome to the forum.
Streching my knowledge with trannies here, but it sounds like it might be
the spring off the control valve body holding the plug for the checkball
behind the 3-4 valve.
Whatever it is, you know dropping parts is not a good thing. I would
suggest pulling codes and finding where it came from before turning the
tranny again.
