| Some of these (later model) trucks were offered with dual shocks, anf the hardware is available from your local off road store. An aftermarket "shock hoop" is also available for that added "bling" factor. Here is a thought: With 10 inch lift springs, they probably do not offer much flex. That being said, most folks install additional shocks just for looks. If the shocks you decide to buy are not valved for a "dual shock application", you will be making an already terrible ride worse. By adding additional dampening, you will make the ride extremely stiff. Your ride has got to be stiff already, and adding shocks exadurate this problem. Any reason you desire multiple shocks? With the availabity of reservior shocks, additional fluid is kept cool enough to prevent shock fading, which you are probably not experiencing now, since I highly doubt that the shock is actually working that hard. Might want to reconsider this, it may not be a reasonable long term, or short term upgrade. |

| I agree with 75K30 here, the looks are cool, but you need to make sure you get the shocks designed for it. I personally hate stiff rides.... Basically you need the same damping out of two that you would get from the one you have..... I think they look sharp, and for a '76 I would think getting a dual shock mount should not be hard to find, or even to produce.

| a friend of mine put a dual shock setup on his 06' truck and kept the stock one in place..his secret was to drill the smaller shocks and drain the fluid. so he has the look but not the harsh ride..it looks very cool... |
