1998 Chevy Z71

I'm having a problem with the 4wd cycling through all the ranges when I turn the key on and it doesn't stop until the key is shut off. There's 2 modules on the transfer case, which one do I need to check? I've had the codes read and it doesn't show any on the transfer case. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

welcome,
It could be the switch itself, those dash push buttons switches are prone to failure. the ECM will not read that as an issue either. That would be my thought.
