'89 K-1500 Hood Latch Broken, Can't Hood Open, Please Help - Page 2

Have someone push down on hood while pulling cable like Jr. said hitting it just might do the trick if this fails call a body shop see what they say im sure they have had this before. I was on a trip once when the same thing happen to this truck he was stuck with a bad battery and no way to open the hood I tryed but had no luck.

there are two 13 mm bolts that hold the latch to the core support. with a little bit of frustration they are accesible through the grill. just did it on my 90.

just did the same thing about a month ago on a junk truck, was fairly easy, but it didn't have a grill.

We got it by prying on the hood a bit more, the latch was just stuck I suppose.

While open, do not forget to lubricate the he!! out of the latch before you close it! LOL.
