  | Swap from 4.3L to 5.7L my question about a swap is my 2003 chevy has a 4.3 and i would like to swap it for a 5.7 would i have to change the comp. chip and or ecm? because i can get a motor with engine wiring harness for a great deal but with this being a newer model and all. the trans and everything is the same i done did the homework on that but i can not find anything on the ecm or chip

| I would think you would need an ECM for it, two more cylinders to fire and in a different order, so for timming alone, I would have to say yeah, you would need to replace the brain with the swap.
