Silverado fuel pump voltage Hello everyone I have a 2001 Silverado I am getting very good at changing out fuel pumps in past year for various reasons we wont get into. My question is does anyone know for sure what voltage I should get at fuel pump connection when I turn key on. Reading different numbers on various sites. I get 5 volts. So is supposed to be 5 or 12 ?

5 volts is for the fuel level sending unit, 12 volts should be for the pump itself, you won`t get a constant 12 volts either, its only on for a few seconds, you need someone to run the key while you check for voltage to pump

If you are having fuel pump replacement problems, have read a number of folks with that problem. Use top quality fuel pumps, from gm, cost more in front end but last longer.
