I am going to try this link and see if it will work, if not I will find another way. This is my 95 K1500 4X4. There are pics of several different intake set up but this is the result from a Holley 600. I converted it this weekend and nope there are no Check Engine lights on. It still has the factory computer to controll the 4L60E trans. But it works Flawless. I see my deer pics made it there too!

so I take it you Carburated this motor? what did you do get a 2nd gen style intake with a carb plenum instead oif tbi? It doesn't seem like it would be hard to do just add some vacuum lines. did you get a mechanical fuel pump and bypass the intank pump? why did you opt for carb over TBI? there is only the video clip and pics of deer on the hyperlink you inserted I'd like to see the intake pics and see what your working with

I don't have the pics of the Carb set up yet, but search the threads by me and you will see the gist of this trial and error project. It has been a long winding road. Its basically a 357cu in small block with modified Vortec heads and an Edelbrock Air Gap intake. The Holley Carb had plenty of vaccum ports but the Throttle Position sensor had to be modified via a bracket and some small linkages from the hobby shop. I didn't intend for the pics of the deer to show up. The fuel was left as is, a high flow EFI pressure regulator was installed to route the excess fuel back to the tank. It was easier to install the reg. than to drop the tank and add a pump. Cheaper also.

yea when you get some pics let me know I want to see how everthing was set up. so why did the TPS sensor have to be fabricated to the carb? I thought that only controlled the pulsewidth on the injectors. must be some other signal crucial to operation that it sends out huh?

There are 4 main sensors that controll the trans: 1. TPS 2. Ignition module in distributor and RPM feed from Dist. 3. MAP sens 4. VSS or Vehicle Speed Sensor All feed info into the ECM to tell it when to shift, HOW, What RPM and what speed. All feed the readings in milli- seconds so that it can make a decision on what to do. It has the stock chip in it now, but I am going to burn a new one tomorrow to get the 4400 rpm shift up to more like a 5400 to 5700 points.

I just converted my 85 c-10 from carb to TBI. my trans is a thm350 no electronics at all and no overdrive. does the VSS only affect the trans or does the ECM need that signal to function while in motion "driving"? because my motor starts right up and purrs but I have no clue what it does in gear yet since I have yet to find a longer driveshaft. Just wondering if i really need to shell out the $125 for a aftermarket speed sensor for the THM350

I don't think it matters if you have if you have feed back from the trans. In some cases it might if you have a 94 or 95 ECM, the trans in these 2 yr models have malfunction sensors that relay problems and Torque Converter control. Also the Speed sensor also shuts down the fuel over 98 mph. If I remember correctly you have an 85? It still should have a mechanical speed-O. If and when you your drive line hooked up and you want more from your TBI, I have been scooping up all the aftermarket chips on the market. I have all the software to read any chip and burn them also. I have several aftermarket chips that I can duplicate for several bucks less than original. Chips are running from $130 to $400 for TBI mods and they really havent changed much. Maybe a shift point or 1-2 points higher on the fuel table. Really when you install a chip you feel the extra increase in shift points. The engine relays info to control the trans, no the other way around.

yep mechanical speedo cable and that aftermarket VSS goes in between the trans and the cable. the only reason I thought I needed it was this web page I read where these guys took a 64' Impala and threw a GM Throttle Body and ECM on It. they made it seem like the VSS was a part that would hinder operation if not used with the system. I dont have a electric lock-up converter or electric speedometer so I take I dont need to purchase the VSS instead I can have you make me a hot chip, My buddy may need one too he has a camaro with a 5.7 but the computer PROM is for a 5.0 or maybe I will just sell him my 5.7 chip and keep the hot on for my self and make him scratch his head when i smoke his POS
