| new fuel pump, management system, intake...... You know, why not just drop in a newer V8 with a tbi set-up already?... get better mileage, more power and more readily availible parts. Infact, if you are really nice...LOL... I think o3shortbed has one, tranny too!

| First a 750 is way too big for a 283, even a hot 283 with a cam and some heads would be better suited for a 650cfm MAX. If you want to go to a TBI set up get an ECM from a vehicle with a STD Trans- its much easier to work with if you have to tune. 45lb per hr injectors or a TBI unit from a 4.3 will work perfect. Find a donor vehicle and pull all parts at once, TBI unit, ECM, and wiring harness, or you can call Painless Wiring to get a Harness to hook it up. you will need a fuel pump, (in line) and an after market tank filler neck with an EFI return nipple. And then some time and patience. |

| Go with the factory carb that came with that engine or close. I once had a Catalina with a 305 I tuned it correct and it still gave me bad gas mileage to bad I sold it I had bought it from this old couple it was clean. |

| i believe the heads are different as well, are they not? i know on my 92 350 TBI the heads use a different intake bolt pattern than the "traditional" bolt pattern. (the 2 center bolt holes go straight down as opposed to an angle)

| Yes the two center bolts on each side of the intake are at a different angles. But the holes can be slotted to match the bolt angle. |

| you could make a spacer yes, but after time and money invested it would be cheaper to buy one. you need to find the whole TBI setup like wire harness, ECM, TBI intake or adapter plate, throttle body Itself. are you wanting to go with a factory TBI setup or Aftermarket? you will have to run metal fuel return line and get an electronic fuel pump. there are alot of things to consider when performing this kind of modification check out this website it can shed a little more light: How to install GM TBI on any Chevy V8

| He also can run any intake that will fit, with the use of an TBI adapter to the intake. An adapter is about $50.00. I have one but I may go back to the TBI set up since I foud out why my engine kapt backfireing. As far as fuel lines rubber lines are sufficient because there should only be 12psi to the injectors. The fuel lines on 86-up TBI trucks are not all steel. They have a rubber section under the drivers side. I use Rubber lines. |
