silverado door problem

I have a 98 silverado ext cab. My door doesnt open. My door rods r not broken that i can see from removing my door panel. It looks like the problem is where i cant get 2 beacuse the door wont open from in or out. Any ideas what it could be? the door is like locked in place and it seems iv tryed everything. Thanks

maybe the lock bar came off the hing. or if you have power locks the solinoid fried and is stock locked.

you should be able to get the door panel off but it's tricky when the door doesn't open. I had a similar problem where my buddy tried to open my door and the rod got jammed up inside and wouldn't open from in or out. you have to get the panel off and play with the rods to your door handle mechanisms to open it again. when your in there spray the lock, the handle, the spring for the window and any thing Else that moves with some wd-40 or equivalent. It's a pain but it can be done

Do you have a key fob? Have you tried "unlocking" the door with the key? After reading this, it doesn't read right. I had an issue with my door at one time. The key fob would not unlock the door. So, I used my key instead. I don't know what happened but something was stuck or not moving in the latch. Haven't had a problem since working the latch with the key a few times.
