99 Silverado Steering Column Vibration

When making tight left or right turns (at a stop),there is a vibration in the steering colunm. Was told it could be a speed sensor. The vibration occurs only at that time.

Are you stuck in 4wd?,are the axle u-joints ok?,not sure if you have razepa style[they have a boot over them] or an open u-joint.Look for a torn boot or rust comming out of the axle u-joint caps where they join the u-joint

need more info, is vehicle moving? are you braking while moving through a turn? if it vibrates when NOT moving it could be steering pump or box problem, let us know...

silverado steering column vibration

When making a tight left or right turn (when stopped) there is a vibration in the steering column, also a "crunch".The "crucnh" is also there when l stop-driver side only.Took the truck in -they said something in the steering column-cant recall the name for it.

The intermediate steering shaft was replaced.Vibration is gone.Slight "crunch" when stopped and turning wheel is still there.Maybe needs to be lubed? Could be normal l guess...
