| what rear end? I picked up a rear end at a junk yard for a project and was told it was a dana spicer 60 out of an 05 chevy express srw van. Problem is it has a 12 bolt hole cover but is shaped like a 60 it has a 10.5 inch ring gear with 14 bolts holding it onto the standard style carier. It has been trussed so I cant read any of the bom numbers and none of the casting numbers or numbers on the cover come up on dana's Expert site. The cover is stamped with the dana logo however. Any ideas??? has dana or maybe GM come out with a new design that isn't showing up on there parts sites yet? The rear end is like brand new none of the gears show any wear whatsoever. Thanks Eric |

| Welcome to the site; Have you pulled an axle yet to coun the splines? I am really not sure of the dana spicer logo you are reading on the cover. I am also aware of Express axles having additional bracing from the manufacturer, for express vans of 3500 and 4500. I am not 100% but the express axles went into a production problem when the AAM went on strike. Dodge was effected by this strike as well. That might just be an AAM axle. Do you have a picture? What are you going to put it into? Maybe a truggy? How much afterarket support are you expecting to find, or anticipate needing? |
