Heavy duty truck question

My 1976 K20 custom delux says heavy duty on the glove compartment. I was told when I bought the hubs for it that the suspension/ differential had more hauling capacity. Does anyone know if they really made a HD 3/4 ton chevy back then like they do now and what was the difference between that and a standard 3/4 ton for 1976 models?

more then likely just the tranny. and a beffy tow hitch

If you still have the sticker in the glove box look for an option code F44 is so its a 1 ton suspension

heavy duty on 3/4 tons mostly means , stiffer springs , bigger brakes shoes.
some have 1 ton rear ends under them.
