I have a 2003 2500HD and my light came on once in a while then my speedo started messing up turns out GM has been having problems with these dashes I had to get mine replaced. Call your local dealer and see if they can do anything for you.

TAKE IT TO A SHOP!!!!! do not mess with that. Having that light on indicates a malfunction in the system. it is rare, but I have seen those spontaneously explode due to a problem. it is a simple fix, needs to be reset, but it needs to be done by a certified tech. that is a safty and an inspection item. do not ignore this!

out of curiosity, does it have a GPS or a traking system? not navigation... but similar to a low-jack setup? in my experience, those stupid systems also mess with the air bags... though I have no idea why.

i really would take it to a shop. i have seen how fast those bags can blow up. i worked in a body shop and i guy was taking a front bumper off after an accedent. the car wasnt on or anything and it just popped out of nowhere. lucky no one was hurt but it scared the **** out of most of the guys. sounds like someone came in with a really big shotgun. i had a really bad ringing in my head for the rest of the day as did most of the other guys. they have alot of power behind them so i wouldnt mess with it.

BTW that's on my 98 blazer. Not my truck. Don't take nearly as much care of it as I should as I put all my time on the truck. LOL
