| shock replacement How many miles do you have on the truck, are shocks leaking, was wondering why the shocks failed so soon? Safety!!!!!!! each time I jack up the old 2500 series I place jack stands under frame. years ago, guy in our area died installing shocks, car fell and crushed him. my life and fingers are worth more than the little time it takes to slip a set of jack stands under my old truck or any vehicle I have jacked up. Our local Lions Club President lost 3 fingers last week changing tires on a big RV when heavy spare tire and frame fell on his hand. Many newer model big RV's do not even come with spares as most old dudes could not change the tires out on the road. Good luck and be safe, |

| why do you need to jack up the truck? I change shocks all the time and never jack up the "Ride" I just compress the shocks a little to get them back in there mounting "brackets". it's really easy when you put the bolt thru the top and push the bottom of the shock up and line it up so it will go into the mounting bracket let it expand and your set
