z-71 help please

i have a 97 z-71 ,5.7 v-8 ,auto,mostly stock.i was driving and the tac and speedometer just went to zero.the truck still ran fine but acted like it didn't want to go.the check engine light came on and so did check gages light.any thoughts would be appreicated thanks.

Replace the ignition switch. Same thing happened on my 1996 Z71. It doesn't have 1st or overdrive, does it? The switch is like $110-125.

sounds like the switch to me also, lost all gauges and only had 2nd and 3rd gear.
my check gauge light would also flash randomly for months before it finally happened.
