| 88'-98' aftermarket stereo plate my buddy just bought a 90' 4x4 and wants me to put a aftermarket stereo in someone has in the past and did a real hack job that I have to fix. My question is before I cut his tape deck center dash plate to make the stereo fit is there a kit or adapter ??????????????

| Hi Fanatic, Take a look thru eBay for Chevy dash parts. You can get an insert to replace your stock radio and buy a new center dash section for your new stereo. The new center dash piece will make the job easier as I suspect yours is torn up. Good luck. Donut John |

| well thanks for the input guys but I installed the radio a day after I posted this thread. I had an extra radio harness from a 92' truck I stripped. it's the one from the speakers & power wire to the dash were the deck connects to. so I made my extra harness long enough to pull the deck out and set it on the seat to work on, instead of the 5 inches the factory gives you to play with. long story short I made his hack job into a longer factory setup. as for the center peice of the dash I just centered the radio mounting sleeve in the hole that the tape deck used to be marked it with a sharpie and cut it out with my die grinder & 3" cut off wheel. then I put the radio in and the only problem is that now there is a 1 1/2 gap on each side of the radio cuz the tape deck was longer but my buddy dont care so it's all good.
