  | cant get my alternator off 99 suburban - 5.7L - 2wd i've unhooked all wiring, and pulled both long bolts out of the front, cannot see any other bolts to remove but the thing will not budge... help please

| hmm.. I cant remember if it only had 2 or 3 bolts.. I'm pretty sure it has 3. IIRC I once replaced the alternator on my 97 and one of the mounting ears broke but it had 2 more bolts to hold it secure...

| Cutting torch and a 6 pack of beer.. that puppy will be off in a week. Here is the something I could find... sounds like there is only two bolts.. will it at least wiggle? WikiAnswers - How do you replace an alternator on a 93 chevy s10 blazer

| there are 3 bolts holding it on, then you need to get in there with a pry bar. a rubber mallet will help get it back in there.

| 2 bolts and a pry bar.... i went back out a few minutes after my initial post and got her to pop a loose. the alternator is set up for a 3rd bolt from the rear but the bracketry isnt. it was just in there real tight with them metal bushings. hammered them forward a little putting the new alt. in and it went in no problem. will know over the next few days if this has fixed my problems
