 | 96 Engine Codes I have a 96 Chevy 1500 Silverado...the check engine light is on and I want to know if there is a way to pull the codes without a scan tool...the truck has 106K miles on it and burns alot of gas... |

| are you close to an autozone they will pull codes for free |

 | is 96 obd1 or obd2?? i want to say my brother in law went for codes on his 96 and they told him it was obd1 and they were missing their scanner. not alot of people mess with the obd1 systems anymore. but is easy to pull codes from with the flick of a paperclip. |

| yeah mines obdII and i went and had the code pulled its P0107 - manifold absolute pressure...so I pulled the hood up and i have a plug that is unplugged on the passenger sde but i can't see where it plugs into....also have what appears to be a vacuumn hose that is missing a place to plug into...does anyone have close up pictures they could email me of the passenger side engine especially maybe with the intake hose removed so i can see ?? I cannot find anythingg online as far as a diagram...if so please email to sammy@seahorsegifts.com....Thanks! |

| the map sensor needs a vacuum hose going to it, other wise it will not work, and throw a code..

| okay found where the plug went...now there is a small vacuum tube that is not connected to anything and i can't tell where it would even go...does anyone have close up pictures of the area under the intake hose??? |

| looked in manual to make sure but dont see vac on v6 but (shold be same) v8 is in middle of sin near top bolt, this is if u have tbi cause 96 started central sequentail feul injection ( central s f i ) this is ur diagramDescription |
